Military officials are celebrating an important milestone in the relationship between Canada and the United States.

The 60th anniversary of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) is Saturday, May 12th.

To coincide with the occasion, the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence at 22 Wing CFB North Bay is launching an new exhibit.

“Below! NORAD’s Underground Fortresses” explores the history of North Bay’s own Underground Complex and the facility at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado.

There are graphic panels, local artifacts, and artifacts on loan from the Peterson Air and Space Museum in Colorado.
