A big jump in employment in the North Bay area in November.

Stats Canada reports employment was at 57.2 per cent last month.

That’s up from 53.8 in November 2016.

The unemployment number can’t be released because it’s below the confidentiality threshold.

There were 1,400 more people in the Labour Force last month, compared to a year ago.

The numbers include North Bay, Callander, East Ferris and Bonfield.

Meantime, the Labour Market Group’s latest job vacancy report shows 359 job postings in October.

That’s down nearly 60 jobs from September, but remains relatively consistent with the 3-year October average.
