Mark King is no longer the federal Conservative candidate in Nipissing-Timiskaming.

Baytoday received confirmation, while the party website also lists Jordy Carr as the Tory candidate in the upcoming federal vote.

In a release, King says he is extremely disappointed.

He says he was vetted and approved by both the local riding association and the Conservative Party itself.

King says he won the membership vote by a healthy margin and then silence from both local and national party officials.

No official results were released.

King  says he received notice of an appeal to his nomination win on June 28th and he was informed on July 3rd that the National Council had upheld the appeal.

KIng plans to hold a 10 am news conference Thursday morning.
