What a WHIRLWIND 2 weeks!

Most people like to relax on their vacations…but apparently NOT ME.

I have to say, I’ve always preferred to go places where I have a purpose.

Nashville was a blast. I loved meeting a lot of our country artists and bands. I find them to be some of the most friendly and fun people I’ve met in my 25 years working in radio. It was also such a cool and unique experience actually being at a live awards show. This part of the trip was definitely a career highlight for me and I’m grateful for that opportunity.

I loved catching up with my friends in Victoria and I’m thankful that I had a few days to do that before heading to the UPLIFT Womens’ Business Summit. What an incredible and inspiring 2 days of the best women in business. I really enjoyed watching Jamie Kern Lima and Sarah Nicole Landry command the stage and share their stories. I loved seeing a community of women coming together to support each other.

My final days off have ended with the Voices Empower Walk for Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. I am honoured to sit on the Board of Directors for this organization and was so impressed by the organization of the walk, what WCSWR stands for, and how many people in the community came out to support it yesterday, on a beautiful sunny day in November.

Today, I’m snuggling on the couch with Otis, preparing to go back to work tomorrow. I thought I might feel tired and drained after this trip, but instead I feel re-energized. Sometimes opportunities present themselves – all at once – and if they’re a THING, then I simply MUST do them. I would not have changed these last 2 weeks at all, and remain grateful for both opportunities. Sometimes a CHANGE is as good as a REST, and I’m ready to take on the world again tomorrow.

Talk to you then at 6am – which will feel like 3am….BAH!
