Ontario is welcoming a new interim agreement that will support continued trade between Canada and the United Kingdom.
Nipissing MPP and Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Vic Fedeli says the UK has been an essential trading partner for Ontario for generations, accounting for $19.6 billion CDN in two-way trade in 2019 alone.
“We encourage the timely ratification of the new agreement to ensure that essential trade relationships are not disrupted, and businesses are not impacted,” Fedeli says.
“Our Ministry looks forward to working with the federal government to fully assess this new interim agreement, and to supporting federal efforts to negotiate a comprehensive agreement in the near future. We would also like to express our congratulations to the Canadian and British negotiating teams on accomplishing this major milestone.”
