The city says 13 traffic signal boxes in Downtown North Bay are in the process of being transformed into works of art.

The project spearheaded by Downtown North Bay and the city’s Public Art Advisory Committee sees signal boxes wrapped in digitally-printed vinyl designs by local artists.

Officials say two boxes are done and work continues on the others over the next few weeks.

Katie Bevan, a PAAC member and Vice-Chair of the Downtown Improvement Area Board says they’ve received 50 submissions overall.

The designs once finished will be highlighted on the city’s web site.
