Two significant funding announcements have been made. Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced $5.5 million to support the region’s film and television industry.

$4.5 million goes to Hideway Pictures to produce season 2 of When Hope Calls in the Powassan area and three Crossword Mysteries movies in the North Bay area.

Also, $500,000 for HP Christmas D Productions Inc. to produce, in and around North Bay, the television movie Too Close For Christmas, $462,628 for Mythic Trips Entertainment Corp. to produce, in and around North Bay, the feature film Flee The Light and $122,000 Post Production North in North Bay to expand its current service offerings to include digital descriptive video.

Meantime, $842,000 was announced to support the expansion of the New Ontario Brewing Company.

It recently moved to a larger facility.

The investment will allow the brewery to expand and purchase automated processing equipment to enhance production and reduce operating costs.

The feds say 12 jobs will be created as a result of the investment.
