The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says if there is a COVID-19 outbreak at a school or childcare centre a news release will be issued.

As well, information will be updated on the outbreak list and COVID-19 cases page on the health unit’s website.

An outbreak in a school is defined as two or more lab-confirmed cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school through transportation and before or after school care.

The health unit says anyone who has symptoms is required to self-isolate for 14 days, or until they receive a negative test result.

In addition, all school boards will be asked to create a COVID-19 advisory section on their website.

And where schools have websites, they will also be asked to create a COVID-19 advisory section .
