The chair of the Infrastructure and Operations Committee, at city council, Chris Mayne says two of the bigger reconstruction projects are on schedule.

“Cassells Street should be substantially completed by the end of construction season this November. Same for Seymour. Now, there might be some tidying up and finishing touches to be done in the spring,” Mayne says.

Mayne says work is also continuing on the turn lane near Decaire Road paving the way for the casino.

He says they’re also installing a culvert.

He expects that job will wrap up by the end of October.

Mayne says he’s hoping to hear positive news about funding for the community centre as the city is well positioned but nothing yet on their funding requests.

Mayne also predicts good news on the Cassellholme file in the next couple of weeks.
