A 30 year old Toronto man is facing several charges after police discovered crystal-methamphetamine in Perry Township.

Police say initially a vehicle was stopped because a false name was provided and then led to other charges including a person having forged documents.

The charges include two drug possession counts, possession of a forged document, identity theft and personation with intent to avoid arrest.

(impaired)

A 31 year old Sudbury woman has become the 26th motorist to be charged with impaired driving within the Nipissing West Detachment area this year.

The latest charge came around 3:20 this morning in Sturgeon Falls when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed was stopped.

Police say a motorist registered a fail after providing a breath sample.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

(break-in)

Nipissing West OPP are investigating a break-in between Monday and Wednesday last week.

$14,000 worth of items were taken from a detached garage on Hwy 575 in Verner.

They include a 2017 Honda EU7000 watt generator, 16 six volt solar panel batteries and several Dewalt cordless power tools.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Someone broke into a residence last Wednesday on So-Ho-Mish Road and the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP is investigating.

Stolen were a black and red Honda generator and a metal rust-coloured beach comber.

Police say the items are valued at $500.
