The North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit stats indicate 20 COVID-19 cases within their coverage area.

The latest case is a male between 40-59 and he acquired the virus through travel.

The patient is self-isolating.

15 of the 20 cases are in Nipissing with the other five in Parry Sound.

18 of the cases have been resolved.

Meantime, Medical Officer of Health is cautioning people to keep following public health measures including physical distancing.

Dr. Jim Chirico says with the government beginning to re-open Ontario and with the warm weather getting here keeping physical distance in mind remains crucial.

Public health measures include:
Staying home as much as possible
Practice physical distancing – staying 2 metres from others who do not reside in your home or where you are living
When physical distancing is hard or not possible to maintain in public wear a facial covering
Gatherings of people remain at five or less (with the exception of an immediate family that lives in the same dwelling that has more than five people)
Washing or sanitizing your hands often
Cough and sneeze into your sleeve
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
Clean high touch objects and surfaces often
