After a four week delay due to COVID-19 the reconstruction of Cassells Street is set to resume today.

The city says the province has indicated municipal construction projects that deliver or support the delivery of certain services can continue.

Those services include sewage treatment and disposal, potable drinking water, and critical infrastructure repair and maintenance.

The city says due to requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and public health directives from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, measures will be in place to ensure a safe work environment for contractors and the public.

Originally, the project was scheduled to be completed this year but now the city is looking at the summer of next year.
