An update involving one of the six confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the North Bay Parry Sound district.

The Health Unit reports a woman in her 60’s who traveled to Florida has now been hospitalized.

Two other cases are self-isolating while three are resolved.

Meantime, Greater Sudbury has it’s first death because of COVID-19.

Public Health officials there say a man in his 70’s passed away this week.

They say out of respect for the family they won’t be releasing any more information.

There were five new cases announced in Sudbury yesterday and one of them suggests the virus is spreading locally.

One of the cases has no known contact with a case or any travel history.
