Nipissing University has announced details of research month.

Several events will be held including NU360 in which seven researchers and President Dr. Mike DeGagne present research in a short time frame with local high school students as the judges.

DeGagne says he’s confident.

“I’m one of the guys that’s doing it on Tuesday night. There’ll be six slides in six minutes and I invite everyone to come out and listen. It’s going to be very good,” he says.

That’s at the Grand Event Centre beginning at 6 pm.

Other events include an undergraduate research conference, a talk from the chair of the Manitoulin Anishinabek Research Review committee and a three minute thesis competition.

The details on research month were unveiled at North Bay City Hall.

DeGagne says they held the event at city hall because they feel they’re an important part of the community and what goes on at the university matters.

“It’s important to keep reminding the community that we’re not separate. The university affects everyone’s lives and tells the story of North Bay,” DeGagne says.
