Earlier this week, OPSEU demanded a copy of the investigator’s report set to be delivered Friday on the workplace culture at Canadore.

OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas says the first step in getting serious about the workplace culture is ensuring the workers and their union see the complete report.

He says they won’t stop demanding it until they get it.

Now, Canadore  has sent out a release from president George Burton.

“In response to statements made in the press and to provide clarity, last year allegations as to the culture of Canadore, primarily directed at our staff, were brought forward as the result of a Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) complaint by a contract employee who did not have her fixed term contract renewed.

In order to ensure that all members of the Canadore community had the opportunity to make their voices heard in a protected environment and to determine the extent of these issues and how we might best address them, we retained an independent third-party investigator.

We have been advised by the investigator that she will be providing her report to Canadore on February 14, 2020. Once received, we will take the time to review and consider the report and expect that we will be providing an update shortly thereafter,”he says.
