North Bay City Council has supported a request from New Ontario Brewing to have a liquor sales license at its new location on Seymour Street.

We told you on Tuesday that the brewery was planning to move to the old Northern Honda location.

Councillor Tanya Vrebosch says this council has made the extra effort to help existing businesses grow.

“We’re very happy that they’ve worked with us and our staff to make this expansion happen,” she says.

Community Services Committee chair Councillor Johanne Brousseau says the city through the business, retention and expansion program is helping companies reach their goals.

“Staff is doing surveys with business owners on their needs and problems. We’re trying to address them and see how the businesses can grow,” Brousseau says.

New Ontario Brewing is currently on Cassells Street and plans to move in early summer.
