New Ontario Brewing is looking to move a new location by early summer.

After five years, President Mike Harrison says they’re looking to leave their Cassells St. location and move to the old Northern Honda on Seymour.

He says they’re making the move because they need a bigger place due to more business.

“Our sales in town have been great but now we’re distributing to places like Ottawa, Windsor and Thunder Bay and we don’t have the space to realize our potential,” he says.

Harrison says he hopes with more production they’ll be able to hire staff and go into more markets like Southern Ontario and the near north.

A city staff report coming to council tonight says in order to grow their production, New Ontario has to apply for a Manufacturer’s liquor sales licence and they’re seeking the city’s support.

The earlier committee meeting sees a rezoning request involving a new industrial subdivision in West Ferris come back for discussion.

Several neighbours previously voiced concerns about traffic and noise.

Also coming to council tonight is the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee’s annual report.

Priority areas include concerns with para bus eligibility requirements, snow removal, accessible picnic tables and more.
