Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the North Bay area which includes North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and West Nipissing.

The warning says expect snowfall accumulation of between 15-25 cm.

The most significant amounts are expected to start Saturday.

Snow is expected to move into the area on Saturday morning.

Snow will be heavy at times in the morning and afternoon.

The snow will taper off to flurries overnight into Sunday.

Winds gusting up to 50 km/h will create areas of blowing snow giving reduced visibility on Saturday.

The warning says travel conditions may deteriorate quickly.
