North East Region OPP say 61 people were charged with impaired driving during the Festive RIDE campaign.

That’s an increase of 38 percent.

Another 30 drivers were issued automatic drivers license suspensions after registering in the warn range, which is up 30 percent.

North East Region’s Traffic and Marine Manager Scott Hlady says It’s very disappointing and concerning to see that so many drivers in our region are choosing to put their own lives and the lives of everyone else on the road at risk.

Festive RIDE ran between November 23rd and January 2nd.
