The North Bay Regional Health Centre says they’re seeing escalating levels of flu activity.

They’ve declared high risk influenza status as they have higher volumes of patients with respiratory illnesses.

The hospital is reinforcing hospital infection control practices including strict isolation of ill patients, enhanced cleaning and disinfection, and adherence to good hand hygiene practices.
Officials say community members can play an active role in preventing the spread of influenza by getting the flu shot, clean hands often and stay at home when experiencing any signs of flu-like symptoms.
