For the second time in less than a week an Ontario Liberal leadership candidate has released a campaign platform for Northern Ontario.

Michael Coteau says he’s focusing on four major areas including working with communities, protecting the environment with a focus on sustaining and expanding resource-based jobs in mining and forestry and also supporting the emerging agricultural sector.

He says the other two planks are unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit of Northern Ontario and ensuring northerners have equitable access in their communities to public services their tax dollars support in education, health care and housing.

Some individual highlights include an annual Northern Ontario cabinet meeting, he will re-establish a stand-alone Minister for Indigenous Reconciliation, a new Deal for municipalities, he pledges to provide internet Access for every Ontarian and create a leader/Premier’s Northern Ontario Advisory Council.
