Fundraising is well underway for the 72nd annual North Bay Santa Fund, but they’re still in need of support.

Co-chair Scott Clark says they’ll be providing about 625 food hampers for local families next week and they need to raise money to do it.

“This year we’re looking to raise $140,000 that will cover off all those baskets, all the toys, and make sure everybody has a great Christmas,” he says. “It’s really crept up on us fairly quickly and we still have at least $100,000 between now and Christmas to raise.”

There’s a few ways to donate.

You can go on to santafund.ca to donate online, you can also donate at the Nugget, they’ve been doing it since day one. You can drop by there Monday to Friday between 9 am and 1 pm, we have volunteers standing by to accept your donation,” he says.

There’s also the KiSS 100.5 Carmine Ricciuti Christmas special coming up Friday morning at Twiggs Coffee Roasters on Fraser Street.

The festive tradition has become the single largest fundraising event for the Santa Fund.

Volunteers are needed for the packing of the baskets on Sunday, December 22nd at 5 pm at Fort Chippewa Barracks, with delivery the next morning starting at 10 am.
