A wintery mess is in the forecast today, with a snowfall warning in effect for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada saying 15 to 25 cm of snow is likely north of Lake Nipissing and 10-15 cm is possible in North Bay.

The agency says the city will be close to the snow-rain boundary with more rain expected south of the city.

They say a slight change in the exact location of the boundary will affect how much snow will fall.

Brief freezing rain is also possible.

The snow is expected to continue into this evening.

Meantime, school transportation officials advise school buses are cancelled across Nipissing and East Parry Sound districts today (Nov 27th).

School remain open.
