A motion involving a former councillor is coming up at tonight’s regular meeting of council.

Deputy Mayor Tanya Vrebosch’s motion looks to honour George Maroosis, who was the longest serving councillor before finishing 11th in the last election.

Maroosis was elected eight straight times starting in 1982.

After deciding not to run in 2006, he ran again in 2010 and 2014, winning a seat both times.

Also on tonight’s agenda is a report on the Councillor pregnancy, birth and adoption leave policy and another report on the Connecting Links funding program.

The earlier Committee meeting agenda includes two items.

They include Growth Community Improvement Plans and a rezoning request on Highway 63.
