A holiday tradition continues today (Friday) and tomorrow with the Festival of Trees and All Things Christmas event at the North Bay Museum.

Admission is free with bids being accepted on decorated trees and holiday wreaths.

Proceeds are supporting the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation’s Cancer Care, Close to Home campaign and the PADDLE Program in providing lifelong experiences for adults with developmental disabilities.

The event goes from 12-9 pm today and 10 am to 4 pm tomorrow.

Meantime, city residents will be crowding a few streets to welcome Santa Claus this weekend.

The annual Santa Claus Parade goes Sunday at noon, with the theme ‘A tropical Chrismas’.

At last check, city officials said 37 floats were entered, with more calls coming in.

That’s up from the 34 floats in last year’s parade.

The parade route is a bit different this year.

It goes along Chippewa, turns onto Ferguson and travels to Main West and wraps up at Main and Cassells.

Kids are reminded to bring along their letters to Santa, with the North Bay Food Bank collecting non-perishable donations along the parade route too.
