We’re into the final draws, before the playoffs begin tomorrow at the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Masters event at Memorial Gardens.

2010 Olympic gold medalist and Sportsnet Curling Analyst Kevin Martin says the curling has been good so far in North Bay.

“There’s a lot of movement in the ice and that makes it a lot of fun for the curlers who can make every shot and there’s some really fancy ones they’re attempting, and making,” he says.

Martin says curling is healthy in Canada and is one of the fastest growing sports around the world.

“You can tell by the teams that are coming to Grand Slams, the parody in our sport is really something special, we don’t have any idea who’s going to win, from what country anymore, I think that’s healthy,” he says.

Draw 13 tonight features a rematch of the 2018 World Women’s Championship final between Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones and Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg.

We could have tiebreakers tonight and tomorrow morning.

The quarterfinals go tomorrow afternoon, with the semifinals at night.

Both the men’s and women’s finals are on Sunday.
