West Nipissing OPP say the third person wanted in connection with a home invasion in Sturgeon falls last month has been arrested.

OPP say officers from the North Bay OPP Crime Unit and the North Bay Police Service arrested a 37 year old male from North Bay in connection with the incident.

He’s been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, break and enter to commit an indictable offense and disguise with intent.

One person was injured in the incident and treated for non life threatening injuries.

(impact)

Officers with the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police will be participating in Operation Impact this Thanksgiving long weekend from Friday to Monday.

They’ll be focusing on four main driver behaviours including speeding, inattentive driving, seat belt usage and use of alcohol or drugs.

Last year, officers issued 79 speeding charges, 1 count for distracted driving, 1 moving violation and 1 charge for impaired driving.

(boat collision)

A boating collision which was not reported initially to Nipissing West OPP in July has led to charges.

Police say their investigation indicates three people were in the vessel when it crashed into an island.

Two of them suffered non life threatening injuries while the other one wasn’t hurt.

The 25 year old operator from Sturgeon Falls has now been charged with operating while impaired and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

Police say the vessel received extensive damage.
