North Bay’s Dave Innes won a bronze medal in the PR1 men’s single sculls event at the National Rowing Championship on the weekend.

The event took place in Burnaby, BC.

Innes continues to train for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

 

The North Bay Battalion only had one game on the weekend, an 11-3 loss Friday night in Sudbury.

Brandon Coe (pictured above) Matthew Struthers and Paul Christopoulos scored for North Bay in the loss.

Next up, the Troops are home to Peterborough on Thursday night.

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos beat French River 8-2 at the Sportsplex on Friday night, then won 6-2 over the Rapids in Noelville on Saturday.

Both teams meet up again on Wednesday night in Powassan.

 

In OUA soccer, both Nipissing teams split their weekend games in Kingston.

They both lost 2-1 to Queen’s on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, the women won 4-2 over RMC while the men won 2-1.

The Lakers lacrosse team won both of their road games on the weekend.

Nipissing defeated Ottawa 11-10 in overtime on Saturday and won 5-4 Sunday afternoon over Queen’s in Kingston.
