The North Bay Battalion scored their first win of the season with a 3-2 overtime victory on home ice Thursday against the Kitchener Rangers.

Captain Brad Chenier (pictured above) had two goals including the game winner.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says he was happy with how the game played out.

“I thought we played really hard, obviously they’re a good team, they’re experienced on defence, I thought our boys competed hard and did a good job,” he says.

Harrison Caines had the other goal for North Bay while Joe Vrbetic gets his first career OHL win in net.

Butler liked what he saw from the rookie netminder.

“I was really happy for Joe.  Joe is a very methodical young man and gets the job done,” he says.
