The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says a harmful blue-green algae bloom has been found in Lake Nosbonsing.
Species of the blue-green algae can irritate the skin and, if swallowed, cause diarrhea and vomiting.
Users are advised to exercise their judgment before using the water.
The health unit says if you live near where a bloom was detected or where a bloom is visible, do not use the water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and brushing teeth.
You’re asked to not go swimming and avoid water sports when a bloom is present.
