The North Bay Battalion wrap up the pre-season this weekend with a pair of games against Owen Sound.

The Troops will head out on the road tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) and then host the Attack at 2 pm Sunday at Memorial Gardens.

Head Coach Stan Butler says the roster isn’t officially set just yet.

“I don’t think we’ll have to make any moves on defense. Ryan Thomson is still out with a wrist injury. So we have six ‘D’. As for forwards, we’re it 15 but we’ll have to get down to 14 or 13,” Butler says.

The goaltending is set with Joe Vrbetic and Christian Cicigoi.

The Troops are 0-3 in the exhibition season as they played all three previous games at the OHL pre-season showcase in Kitchener.

Butler says the players have just started skills training sessions with Ryan Oulahen and they’ve hired a fitness expert too.

“Peter Renzeti has been up this week putting the guys through workouts. We’re just starting to get the players into the routine that we need. If we have a young team it’s going to be important to have a fit team and a hard working team,” he says.

The Troops regular season home opener is next Friday against Barrie.

Season ticketholders who have paid can pick up their booklets on Sunday starting at 10 am in the main concourse at Memorial Gardens.

Those who have unpaid tickets can visit the Box Office to make payment arrangements and pick up their booklets.

The Powassan Voodoos have three games on the road this weekend.

They’re in Cochrane tonight, Hearst tomorrow night and Timmins on Sunday afternoon.

The Voodoos are 2-1 on the season so far.

The Nipissing Lakers men’s hockey team has an exhibition game tomorrow night.

They’re home to Laurentian at 7:30 pm at Memorial Gardens.

Both Nipissing soccer teams play on the road against Carleton tomorrow.

The women then play Ottawa on Sunday while the men travel to Toronto.

The Nipissing Lacrosse team is home to Bishops tomorrow.
