Another successful fundraising campaign for the local chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada, New Ontario Brewing and KISS 100.5.

For the 3rd year, New Ontario Brewing has been selling Tilted Tower Ale with funds supporting the fight against CF.

And this year, just over $3,000 was raised.

Brewmaster Mike Harrison says this isn’t just about raising money but it’s also about raising awareness.

“I think we’ve done that. The biggest impact is our ability to reach out into our community and raise awareness and funds and showcase individuals with Cystic Fibrosis and works towards a cure,” he says.

Meantime, the local chapter won a major award from the provincial organization.

Also, member Paige Shemilt-Trudeau won a provincial volunteer leadership honour.

She says the award is a recognition that they’re making a difference in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis.

“If we’re being known and mentioned in other chapters that means they’re taking things that we’ve been doing and spread that louder so the awareness and the advocacy can continue throughout the province,” she says.
