Help has arrived for children at One Kids Place.

It comes in the form of activity hallways.

Executive Director Denis Filiatrault says thanks to a generous contribution for the Farquhar family there are now 4 activity hallways at the Children’s Treatment Centre.

“The installations are themed differently, There’s gross motor skills and sensory skills being developed. We also tried to incorporate what North Bay is all about in each one of these installations,” he says.

Ryan Farquhar says he saw for himself when his son was younger the difference One Kids Place can make in a child’s life and he wanted to help.

And that’s what the activity hallways will do.

“They’re working on shapes and the kids are hopping from these shapes. They’re working on motor skills. They’ve got letters, they’ve got bean bag tosses so there’s throwing skills. They’re designed to be fancy, distracting and colourful but they all have therapeutic needs built into them,Farquhar says.”
