A new battery-powered, remote control truck jacking system for the world’s biggest trucks has been unveiled in North Bay.

It comes from Specialized Maintenance Equipment, a member of The Nordic Minesteel Technologies Group of Companies.

Officials say the Titan220e is designed to keep the operator safe by using remote control.

They also say it reduces tire and truck maintenance time, increasing truck availability.

“Above standard safety is built into every piece of equipment designed and manufactured at the NMT Group. The Titan220 uses hydraulic locking valves plus four secondary mechanical locking arms when lifting and securing the load. The mechanical locking arms gives the operator visual confirmation that the load is secure. Safety, you can see!” says Wayne Desormeau, Global Product and Innovation Manager, SME.

It’s also a clean-energy option, something the company says their customers are looking for.
