The city says the $10.9 million Cassells Street reconstruction project is starting up this week.

The work will be quite extensive and when it’s done officials say there’ll be four lanes between King and Olive streets and five lanes between Olive Street and Highway 11/17.

Various turn lanes and access upgrades are also part of the project, along with work on sidewalks, curbs and gutters on both sides.

The first two phases of the work will be between King Street and Chippewa, with a completion date in late November.

The next two phases between Chippewa Street and the highway has a November 2020 completion date.

An open house on the project goes tonight (Monday) from 4:30-6:30 pm in the main lobby at city hall.
