The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre has received $86 000 in funding.

The money will fully fund the cost of a Giraffe isolette for the Unit..

It is a full-featured incubator and a radiant warmer, that helps reduce the stress on the facility’s neonates.

There are currently two Giraffe stations and if both are in use mothers and babies must be referred to other primary care centres.

Half the money was raised at the recent Farquhar Chrysler Charity Golf Tournament and the other half was a matching gift from a generous, anonymous, community donor.
