There’s no more dreaming about being able to buy food and ice cream at the Omischl Sports Complex.

That’s because a new food truck, ‘Field Of Dreams Food and Ice Cream Emporium’, is about to open on site.

John Grouchy, who also owns Yogurtz with his wife Rhonda, tells BayToday the idea has been in the works for a couple years.

“Last year we were in a better position to say ‘ok, I think we should do this now,’ I think there’s a need and want for food and treats at this end of town, there’s nothing really out here,” he says.

On top of the usual fare, there are unique menu items, like a Cuban Grilled Paninni.

“We’re smoking our own pork loin, slicing it up, cutting our own pickles, I have this amazing, killer house mustard we put on it, two kinds of cheeses, I have a homemade Mac and Cheese,” he tells BayToday.

There’s also frozen yogurt and ice cream.

The plan is to open on Friday with flexible 11 am to 8 pm hours, daily.
