North Bay Police are investigating after an assault with a weapon at a residence on Third Avenue before 6 am Tuesday morning.

Police were called after a man in need of medical assistance knocked on the door of a Sixth Avenue residence.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say this was a targeted attack and there is no threat to public safety.
