A new rainfall record was set at the North Bay airport yesterday.

20.4 mm of rain fell, surpassing the 16.9 mm that was recorded on May 19th last year.

The forecast calls for showers and rain to end later today.

With the flooding situation, the Conservation Authority said water levels were stable on Lake Nipissing yesterday, but the rain and wind could have an impact.

Inflows have started to trend downward, but officials say reaction from the rainfall will depend on how much fell and where it fell in the watershed.

Volunteers are still needed on Jocko Point for filling sand bags and reinforcing sand bag walls.
