The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has extended the flood warning in the North Bay District until Friday.

Some flooding has been reported in much of the southern portion of the district, which includes the Tomiko River, Sturgeon River, Mattawa River and South River as well as creeks and streams that flow into sections of these respective watersheds.

As for Lake Nipissing, the current level is 196.32 m which is above the Maximum ‘Non-Damage’ Water Level of 196.22.

And the lake’s level is expected to go to 196.40 m in the next week.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says the river gauges on Chippewa Creek, Wasi River and La Vase River are showing water levels descending.
