We told you last week policing responsibility of West Nipissing is being turned over to the Ontario Provincial Police on June 6th.

West Nipissing Police say on that date the headquarters on Holditch Street will be closed and if you have an emergency for police, fire or ambulance you can still call 911 to get help.

As of Wednesday, you’re asked to go OPP detachments in North Bay, Warren or Sudbury for police record checks as the local service will no longer be doing those.

As of June 7th, anyone requiring other forms of paperwork or information will have to attend the temporary police quarters on John Street in Sturgeon Falls.
