This year I have committed to having #fiftytwocoffees with fellow young professionals in our community. Once a week I have been randomly paired with someone to meet, learn, and make a new connection! The idea is to bring the young business community together and grow a stronger North Bay!

This week, I got to chat with Maggie Daniel, she’s an Admin Assistant, in the Office of the President at Nipissing University.

Maggie, like me, is a big Toronto sports fan. We talked about the Leafs playoff chances, the Blue Jays rebuild and our local OHL team the North Bay Battalion.

She grew up in North Bay and has a great perspective on local education. Prior to working at Nipissing University, Maggie spent a few years at the North Bay animal hospital and that’s how she ended up with two cats and she brings her trained therapy dog Nixon to Nipissing University for the students in residence.

You may see Maggie hitting bombs at the Steve Omischl Complex playing mixed soft ball this summer.

It was great to meet Maggie and get to know her.

Ten cups down, 43 more to go!

Follow me and other young professionals in our journey over the course of the year by following the #fiftytwocoffees tag on social media platforms.
