Steady spring temperatures have helped with the winter thaw.

Chair of Infrastructure and Operations Chris Mayne says “so far so good” when it comes to the concerns of the risk of flooding.

“it has been freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw so we’ve had a chance to have everything melt slowly, there is pavement around the streets and some of the sidewalks are starting to come back.” he says.

Mayne says the city is through the worst of the winter maintenance season.

He adds this winter has been unprecedented in terms of the amount of snow fall and the amount of requests for assistance.
