It’s no secret the snow is gradually melting.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says the average snow depth at the three area reading stations is 74.4 cm.

That’s just over 16 cm less than a week ago.

Water content is also down by about 4.7 mm.

The snow depth varies from 70 cm in Corbeil on the low end to 77.8 at Chippewa Creek.

The average in Chisholm is just over 75 cm.
