We should find out in the next month or so who the next deputy chief of North Bay Police is. That from the current chief Shawn Devine.

“The board has gone through the first part of the selection process. They are going to be scheduling interviews and that should be done by the first week of April,” Devine says.

He doesn’t expect an announcement to be made until mid April. The current deputy chief is Scott Tod. He will take over for Devine as chief in June.

Devine was asked what the board will be looking for.

“Somebody that has experience with leadership, has plenty of education and what the candidate’s views are for the future both in North Bay and around Ontario,” he says.
