Community Living North Bay set up a “pledge station” at the Northgate Shopping Centre on Wednesday to ask people to pledge respect.

Spokesperson Chris Thorne says they work with people who have intellectual disabilities and lack of respect can make all the difference.

“Negative language affects negative attitudes. We hope positive language will mean people can respond positively to people,” he says.

Thorne says it’s pretty easy for some people to look down on others and they hope this campaign shows the importanc eof being positive.

He says you can pledge respect by going on line at www.respectnorthbay.weebly.com
