'Rock of Ages: High School Edition' on stage at SJSH later this week

An 80’s rock revival goes later this week at St Joseph-Scollard Hall.

The Bears Musical Theatre Program is performing ‘Rock of Ages: High School Edition – The Musical’ on Thursday and Friday.

Showtimes are 7 pm both nights.

Musical director Brian Overholt says there’s about 40 students in the program, which is now a timetabled course at the school.

“We have five days a week with the students, it really allows us to take the time to perfect the harmonies and choreography,” he says.

Grade 12 student Megan Collins says one draw for her was the fact the music involved is different from a typical musical.

“This is so cool to learn some new rock songs, know some songs that have been played before, and to sing them” she says.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the school or at the door.
