The North Bay Battalion defeated Sudbury 5-2 this afternoon (Monday) to win their sixth straight game.

Brad Chenier and Justin Brazeau (pictured) each had two goals with Matthew Struthers adding a single.

Christian Propp made 40 saves with Assistant Coach Adam Dennis saying that was key.

“Goaltending gave us a chance to win tonight, I thought he was very good, made some huge saves, especially 20 shots in the second period, I think you can look at that as the turning point, we ended up winning that period,” Dennis says.

Propp also picked up an assist on Chenier’s second goal of the game and 18th of the season.

Brazeau’s first goal of the game turned out to be the game winner.

“He did not have much space to put the puck through the defenders legs, and then you think that he’s going to shoot the puck, and then he does an extra move when you think he’s skated himself into a corner, and what a shot, too.  I don’t know what else to say, he’s in video game mode sometimes,” Dennis says.

Brazeau’s second goal on the day was his 37th of the season.

The Battalion Captain also collected an assist on Struthers’ 18th goal.

The Troops are back in action Thursday at home to Oshawa.
