The results are in from a couple weekend fundraisers.

The Lion’s Children’s Christmas Telethon on Saturday raised $35,000.

The money will help brighten the holidays with a meal and gifts for over 400 families in the outlying district.

Meantime, about $980 was raised for cancer research at Friday night’s chili competition at the Downtown Christmas Walk.

The North Bay Professional Fire Fighters and the CIBC Run For The Cure hosted the successful event, that featured eight local restaurants.

Terry’s Place won the People’s Choice Award.
