Plenty of goals for the North Bay Battalion this weekend, but they were outscored in both Kingston and Ottawa.

After a 7-6 loss to the Frontenacs on Friday, the Troops dropped a 6-3 decision yesterday to the 67’s.

After trailing 3-0 against Ottawa, the Battalion battled back with goals from Brad Chenier (pictured), Adam McMaster and Luke Moncada, but the 67’s would scored three more to secure the win.

North Bay is back on the road for three games this coming weekend, taking on Kitchener, Niagara and Hamilton.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos look to avenge to a couple recent losses in Kirkland Lake with a home game against the Gold Miners at 7 tonight at the Sportsplex.

After a 4-1 loss in Kirkland Lake last Wednesday, the Voodoos dropped a 3-1 decision to the Gold Miners on Saturday.

Sandwiched in between was a 4-0 loss to French River in Noelville on Friday.

 

The first half of the season wrapped up on the weekend for three Nipissing Lakers varsity teams.

The men’s hockey team lost 7-1 to McGill then 9-2 to Concordia while both Nipissing basketball teams split their weekend games.

The women won 70-53 over Western but lost 63-39 to Windsor.

On the men’s side, the Lakers lost 77-72 to Western but won 84-51 over Windsor.

 

The bid for a perfect season has come to an end for the Canadore women’s volleyball team.

They lost 3-1 to Durham yesterday to wrapped up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a 7-1 record.

On the men’s side, Canadore won 3-1 over Durham, to improve their record to 5-3 at the break.

In OCAA men’s basketball, the Panthers won 104-86 over St Lawrence.

Canadore enters the holiday break with a 5-5 record.
